Preventing escalation threatening international peace and security through international cooperation aimed at reducing tensions in contested territories.
The Disarmament and International Security Committee confronts one of the defining challenges of the contemporary world order: the fragility of peace in a multipolar era where contested territories intersect with nuclear posturing, proxy conflicts, and eroding arms-control frameworks. Delegates will be expected to craft nuanced, multilateral solutions that balance state sovereignty with collective security obligations under the UN Charter.
